Art friezes, decorative elegance in new collections

Sonia Pilla, art director of Sonia Design, embraces the art and elegance of friezes with her unique attention to detail, turning these collections into authentic expressions of taste and refinement

OUR WINTER CHRISTMAS MOOD 2023: ART FRIEZES

This year some of Loison’s packaging” explains Sonia Pilla, art director of Sonia Design, “is inspired by friezes, timeless decorative elements widely used over the centuries in various art forms such as sculpture, painting, weaving, to name but a few. The friezes that I have selected for these packages give an incredible visual balance, convey a powerful elegance and I have declined them in different colours”.

LIMITED EDITION TIN BOX, ‘MUST HAVE’ FOR 17 YEARS

The packaging. Never before has the Latta collection fully expressed the harmony between beauty and goodness. Proudly in its 17th limited edition, Latta is dressed in golden friezes, in delicate relief, giving it a three-dimensional aura that catches the eye from any angle.
Each tin is a precious casket, a treasure that surprises with the gift of a 750 gram panettone wrapped in precious tissue paper, ready to awaken the senses. All strictly hand-wrapped and sealed with the art of tradition.
Each collection is crowned with a bi-colour cord: one gold and the other in tune with the shade of the tin, in a dance of elegance and style.

The Panettone. This collection offers an assortment of 5 sought-after flavours, each identified by the most appropriate colour: from the classic Cardinal Bordeaux and Light Blue, which respectively embrace the Classico AD 1476 Panettone and the Mandarino Tardivo di Ciaculli (Slow Food Presidium), to the seductive Brown of the Regal Cioccolato, passing through the elegant Ivory that envelops the Nerosale Panettone. But the surprises do not end here, as the new entry of 2023, the Panettone Pera Cioccolato, is presented in a fascinating green shade.

FROM FRESCOES AND TAPESTRIES THE FRIEZES FOR THE BAROQUE COLLECTION

The Packaging. The Barocco collection features the traditional decorative friezes that once adorned fabrics, tapestries and frescoes: they are shiny, raised, almost three-dimensional engravings that give an elegant feeling of depth. Instead of using the common decorative ribbons, at the top of the box, like a small precious casket, Sonia Pilla wanted to melt a discreet button closure that adds a touch of class.

The Panettone. The collection includes 4 flavours of 500 g Panettone: the new entry 2023 Pera Cioccolato, Limoni, Classico D 1476, Amarena and each flavour is distinguished by the colour identifying the package.

VENEZIA COLLECTION, INSPIRED BY TYPICAL CHURCH MOTIFS

The packaging. The box takes on a special meaning for Sonia, as it evokes the atmosphere of the old confectioners’ shops of yesteryear, when walking around St Mark’s Square in Venice with this elegant packaging meant embracing well-being and refinement. The friezes on the package are inspired by the typical motifs of Venetian churches, giving it a precious touch. In addition, the two-coloured cord handle adds a charming detail, harmonising with the different colours of the packaging.

The Panettone. Four proposals of 500 grams for four different colours that emphasise the taste: Marron Glacé, Classico aD 1476, Mandarin, Regal Cioccolato.

DAMASCO COLLECTION, THE ONLY ONE DEDICATED EXCLUSIVELY TO PANDORO

The packaging. What an appropriate choice of name! This collection fully personifies the elegance of the damask frieze, an ornamental motif inspired by the ancient Damask weaving technique, characterised by its intricate weaves and refined decorative details. The two-tone cord handle is a further touch taken care of by Sonia, which supports the colours of the packaging.
The Pandoro. The Damasco collection is the only collection dedicated exclusively to Pandoro in 4 proposals of 1 kilo; Caramello salato, Cioccolato, Classico, Zabaione

These collections are part of the TOP Line, Loison’s excellence, a line that is distinguished by the choice of fine ingredients, all with controlled origin certification, eggs from free-range hens, fresh mountain milk, butter and cream. The other ingredients are selected on the basis of territorial excellence: from flour to Italian sugar, from whole sea salt from Cervia to precious aromatic ingredients, evaluated with extreme care and creativity
