Loison: 35 Years of Sustainable and Creative Packaging
Sonia Pilla, the artistic mind behind Loison Pasticceri, has made reuse a true hallmark, transforming each package into an object meant to last over time.
Well beyond the wrapping, each creation is born with a sustainable soul: multi-purpose boxes and bags become containers for the wardrobe, the wrapping papers are ideal for decoupage, and the shoppers made of resistant recycled PET are an icon of Made in Italy design.
Loison and sustainability: since 2007, a concrete and constant commitment documented with facts.
CREATIVE USE NOT AS A TREND BUT AS AN INTRINSIC VALUE
The art of hand-packaging, at the heart of Loison Pasticceri’s philosophy, has intertwined for 35 years with a sustainable and functional approach, distinctive features of the collections by Sonia Pilla, Art Director and wife of Dario Loison. Each package not only enhances the product but is designed for a new use: rigid boxes and bags transform into elegant containers, the wrapping papers lend themselves to decoupage or drawer lining, while the shoppers made of resistant recycled PET from plastic bottles are an icon of Made in Italy design. This vision combines aesthetics and ethics, giving life to a conscious and creative design. “Each creation is an expression of my sensitivity, which allows me to live my daily life with depth and see the world with different eyes,” explains Sonia Pilla.
BOXES AS WARDROBE CONTAINERS
The collection that best expresses this thought is certainly the Limited Edition Latta, ideal for storing postcards or family photos, or as a container for sewing tools or craft materials. The Romantica collection, heir to the historic oval Hatbox, reinvents itself in a square box that combines practicality and versatility: designed for intelligent reuse, it fits perfectly in wardrobes, becoming a refined container for clothing accessories. The trunk from the Bimbi collections also follows this philosophy, transforming into an elegant container for lighter accessories such as scarves or gloves, which are back in trend with great charm.
NEW IDEAS FOR THE “ELEGANZA” MULTI-PURPOSE BAG
How many times, while tidying drawers, have we found ourselves not knowing where to put underwear or swimsuits? Or while packing suitcases, searching in vain for a shoe bag? The Eleganza collection offers us an intelligent solution: a multi-purpose bag, practical and reusable, available in the three iconic colors of Sonia Design. Even if we are not strict followers of Marie Kondo, this accessory will become our ally to bring order and style to daily life.
THE WRAPPING PAPER? PERFECT FOR DECOUPAGE OR ORIGAMI
Loison’s friendly customers are a source of inspiration and share ingenious ideas for reusing Loison’s packaging. The wrapping papers from the collections, for example, are perfect for covering book and notebook covers worn by use. Or, thanks to the magic of decoupage, they become decorative elements that embellish wooden drawers, adding a touch of color and originality. The art of Origami requires a certain precision, and Loison’s thick wrapping papers are perfect for creating elegant envelopes and wrappings, enriched by the ribbons that accompany the package.
LOISON AND SUSTAINABILITY: SINCE 2007, A CONCRETE AND DOCUMENTED COMMITMENT
Loison Pasticceri is a pioneer in sustainable management with a continuous, concrete, and factually documented commitment:
- since 1995, Loison has been part of the Slow Food world, with the aim of safeguarding small productions of gastronomic excellence threatened by industrial agriculture, environmental degradation,1 and homogenization
- since 2007, the purification plant treats 1,300 m3 of wastewater annually.
- since 2007, Loison has applied the BRC Food Standard to its production, aiming to produce pastries in compliance with the laws and technical standards in force in Italy, Europe, and non-EEC countries.
- in 2011, a 99 Kw photovoltaic system was built.
- in 2017, the photovoltaic system was expanded to 144 Kw, with a 50% self-production of energy needs, resulting in a reduction of carbon dioxide emissions equivalent to planting 3,750 new trees.
Loison Pasticceri Since 1938
Simple roots, genuine ingredients, and traditional sweets—these are the values on which the history of the Loison family is built. Four generations of pastry chefs from Costabissara, in the province of Vicenza, have carried on this legacy. It all began in 1938 with Grandfather Tranquillo, the first to develop a passion for the art of baking and to pass it on to his son, Alessandro. Together, they transformed the family bakery into an artisanal business, inaugurating a new workshop in 1969. Since 1992, Dario Loison has been leading the company, now joined by his son Edoardo in recent years. He continues to preserve the artisanal essence of the business while expanding its presence in international markets, always with an eye toward the future.
Every Loison creation is the result of passion, time, and research. Their sweets come to life from living sourdough, through a slow 72-hour production process using carefully selected ingredients, including top-quality products recognized by Slow Food Presidia.
Loison Pasticceri’s numbers tell the story of an artisanal company with an international spirit: for over 30 years, it has been exporting worldwide; more than 70 countries have embraced the Loison taste; 97% of its production carries the Loison brand, a symbol of gourmet excellence. With over 500 direct clients around the world, the company stands out for its short supply chain and a relationship of trust and transparency with its partners.
