The Veneziana is a sweet reflection of culture at the table: a taste experience, a soft leavened wonder topped with fine sugar crystals and Italian dried fruit.
Travelling also means savouring the journey, taking the time for a pause: this is how master pastry chef Dario Loison makes his Veneziana unique, patiently working it for 72 hours. The result is a sweet encounter between history and Venetian cultural heritage, made possible by the passion and experience of Loison’s fine pastry-making.
Loison has dedicated a booklet to Venice and its history.
Venice, a city of extraordinary heritage admired all over the world, inspires Loison to create the Veneziana: a sweet tribute to its timeless beauty. This enchanted city, suspended between water and sky, guardian of ancient secrets and distant tales, is the birthplace of a unique and refined cake that captures the elegance and enduring charm of the place that inspired it.
A sweet fragrance drifts through the calli and leads the way to Costabissara, near Vicenza, where the Loison family has preserved the ancient recipe for a simple, soft focaccia for four generations. Over time, it has been enriched with precious spices, recalling Marco Polo’s journeys to the East. One taste is enough to be transported to an age of revolutionary discoveries, encounters between cultures and precious fabrics…
History, secrets and flavour of the Veneziana

A symbol of gift-giving and good fortune, the Osella, the ancient coin once offered by the Doge to the Great Council, lives again in the Loison Veneziana. The hand-wrapped packages are sealed with an Osella, completing the essence of an authentic gift that represents the city that inspired them.

Venice, a crossroads between East and West. It was here that Marco Polo’s journey to Asia began in 1271, discovering spices amid the scents and colours of the markets. Like Marco Polo, Loison perfumes its creations with a selection of over 100 spices, enchanting the palate with a multisensory experience.
A bouquet of unique aromas that enhances flavours, surprises the palate and makes the taste of the Veneziana unmistakable. The secret? A blend of 6 types of pepper, cinnamon, saffron, nutmeg, ginger and cloves. Our story begins with the guarantee of genuine, fresh ingredients and Slow Food Presidia: a multisensory journey beyond taste and time.
