THE RETRO CHARM OF TARTAN FOR THE XVIII LIMITED EDITION TIN BOX
The XVIII Limited Edition Tin Box is a tribute by Sonia Pilla, wife of Dario Loison and Art Director at Loison Pasticceri, to the “Scottish Style,” inspired by her childhood memories. As a child, Sonia often wore kilt skirts, pompom hats, and blouses, all in Scottish style. For her, these memories evoke winter, with tartan reminiscent of the upholstery in old mountain hotels—a style that heralds the arrival of Christmas.
Sonia has designed five distinct patterns for the Limited Edition Tin Box: ivory, midnight blue, pine green, burgundy, and dove gray. All the geometric graphics of lines and squares that make up the five different tartan styles for the 2024 Tin Box are fully conceived and created under the Sonia Design signature. The satin gold cord handle echoes the colors of the Advent wreath framing the Loison logo on the tin lid. This detail is no coincidence: just as the Advent wreath is placed on the front door as a sign of welcome, in the Loison world, it symbolizes hospitality and good fortune.

The Tin Box has been a collectible Loison staple, produced in limited editions for 18 consecutive years. Upon opening it and unwrapping the tissue paper (watermarked with fragments of Loison’s pastry tradition), the Panettone is revealed: first to the eye, then with its intoxicating aroma, and finally to the palate. In fact, there are five of Loison’s most delicious flavors: Classico AD 1476, boasting 72 hours of natural leavening and enriched with plump raisins and candied orange peel from Sicily and citron from Calabria; Regal Cioccolato, a true delight for dark chocolate lovers; Mandarino, a burst of freshness with candied late-season Ciaculli mandarins, a Slow Food Presidium; NeroSale, an intriguing and sophisticated combination of intense dark chocolate and a filling of salted butter caramel cream; Pera Cioccolato, a classic yet always irresistible pairing of tender candied pear and a customized blend of South American chocolate.
