Two new flavors, Cioccolatte and Fondente, for a chocolate cake with a crunchy shortcrust pastry base and double filling (cream and frangipane), available 365 days a year: one alone wouldn’t have been enough to express Dario Loison’s exuberant creativity… and he’s already working on the next variations!
Perfect as a gift or for a small indulgence, the Tosa cake is a small masterpiece divided into 12 irresistible slices of 25 grams each.

The Tosa is a chocolate cake with a classic identity, made with cocoa shortcrust pastry, distinguished by its original double filling: one alone wouldn’t have been enough to express Dario Loison’s exuberant creativity… and he’s already working on the next flavors!
This cake is structured in three layers, three different textures to offer a multi-sensory pleasure with every bite: at the base is a crunchy shortcrust pastry enriched with butter and single-origin cocoa; followed by a first cream, which varies depending on the editions: salted caramel for the 2021 flavors and chocolate for the 2024 novelties; finally, the cake is completed with a second frangipane cream, which varies according to the flavor.

The CIOCCOLATTE flavor is made with a crunchy cocoa shortcrust pastry, the perfect base for a smooth milk chocolate cream and finished with a milk chocolate frangipane. The result is an elegant flavor, sweetened by the presence of milk, making it creamier and more enveloping, perfect for the whole family.

NEW TOSA FLAVOR 2024: FONDENTE

 

For lovers of intense chocolate, the FONDENTE flavor is an experience not to be missed. The crunchy cocoa shortcrust pastry envelops a bold dark chocolate cream, enhanced by a dark chocolate frangipane that brings out the aromatic notes of cocoa in all its nuances.
This version represents the ultimate expression of cocoa, with chocolate present in different shades and textures.

TOSA FLAVORS 2021: IRRESISTIBLE SALTED CARAMEL!

HAZELNUT AND SALTED CARAMEL. A cocoa shortcrust pastry base that enhances intense flavors, followed by salted caramel cream, an irresistible combination of the sweetness of caramel and its salty note, and salted caramel and Piedmont hazelnut frangipane cream.

CHOCOLATE AND SALTED CARAMEL. The cocoa shortcrust pastry is the classic crunchy base that holds the subsequent creams: salted caramel, the delicious star of this variant too, and frangipane with dark chocolate chips, for an intense blend of the protagonists.

The Tosa, along with the other two cakes Sbrisola and Bonissima, belongs to the continuous Loison line, created with the intent of offering the unmistakable taste of Loison desserts all year round, regardless of the season.

HOW A NEW DESSERT IS BORN: THE INSPIRATION FROM MIRANDOLINA, THE EXUBERANT LANDLADY

When Dario and Edoardo Loison devised the recipe for the Tosa cake, they had in mind an enveloping dessert, inspired by an exuberant and sensual female figure, but also intelligent and contemporary. A cake as captivating as the Tosa could only be inspired by the legendary Mirandolina, the lively female protagonist of the play “La Locandiera” written by the Venetian Carlo Goldoni in 1752.
The charming Mirandolina runs an inn and attracts the attention of wealthy and noble clients eager for her affection, but she refuses marriage to preserve her freedom. In the end, however, she gives in only to the advances of her waiter Fabrizio, choosing him not out of love but because he will not be an obstacle to her independence. Mirandolina thus embodies an emancipated figure for the time, an intelligent woman who knows how to assert herself thanks to her strong character.
